Editor,
I am writing to endorse Nancy Beninati for Piedmont City Council.
I have lived in Piedmont for almost 50 years and have known many members of City Council. I have also served on numerous local boards (School Board, Ed Foundation, Boy Scouts, League of Women Voters), co-chaired Bond Campaigns and volunteered in various ways over the decades. As a result of these experiences, I believe I have insight into what it takes to serve effectively on the Piedmont City Council.
With that in mind, I can state categorically that I believe Nancy has the qualities and experience needed to be a highly successful City Council member. She is a long-term resident of Piedmont; has served on the Recreation and Civil Service Commissions and been President of the League of Women Voters; has decades of experience in the CA Department of Justice as a Supervising Deputy Attorney General in civil rights; and is a lecturer in public policy at UC Berkeley. She also has twin boys at PHS.
If you, like me, seek City Council members who are competent, collegial and committed to their community and its values, I encourage you to vote for Nancy Beninati.
